Description

Hotchpotch Landscape

Here are three different photographs of the same view. It is a large field in Southern Australia, with a herd of cows grazing. I have layered one over the other (see Drilling Holes In Engines), and cut through to expose the underlying image. The word Hotchpotch means: confused mixture, a jumble. Or in law; the reunion and blending of properties for the purpose of securing equal division. The title occurred to me, whilst I was constructing the picture, ( I had to look up the meaning of the phrase as an afterthought….). (IR – 84.07 x 39.14cm).
