The archaic plough was propped up against a wall, at Red House Farm in Woodgate, Norfolk. It was on display with another vintage plough. I thought it was quite striking, with its springs and ratchets; it had a sculptural quality like an Object D’Art. Having isolated the machine (cut it away from the wall behind), I wanted an unusual background. What you see, are fishing floats, that presumably hold up the net, which is immersed in the water below. They were stacked up on the quayside at Great Yarmouth. I have applied a filter to soften them. The title became obvious as I was creating the picture. (IR 118.9 x 62.82cm).
