Sliema

I had a mini-break in Malta and stayed at a hotel overlooking the harbour at Sliema, across from Valletta. This is a photo I took from my balcony of the congested view of high rise flats and hotels, (I was going to add a lattice framework to the image which I eventually transferred to the picture entitled ‘Stark’). I began experimenting, by copying square sections of the original and offsetting and creating a shadow to distinguish them. Then I copied vertical strips of the photo, of different widths, all along the frame. With these, I moved the copied images either up or down to create a scattering effect. A filter was used to enhance the picture. I was quite amazed by the result.
